Story

How it all happened

I was fascinated with animations since I was a little kid running around! And as I grew older – nothing changed.

 

I didn’t grow to become a famous animator, (or any animator for that matter), but I did dedicate my life to Art and went to an Art University for Illustration Major.

 

Then, at some point on my art path I realized that I want more.

And for me that meant learning how to bring my characters to life!

 

So I took it upon myself to learn – and now I want to share with you how You can also animate your artworks into little short GIFs!

Why Should I learn?

If you always loved animation as much as I do – then it will be second nature that you want to step up your art game!

And while I won’t be teaching you how to make a full animated film – I will show you how to tell a story with just two moving images.

 

With the skills you will get from this lesson you will be able to make more than just a short GIF – you will actually be able to create longer animations as well!

 

You know how animators used to put layers of paper on top of each other on a lightbox and draw motion frame by frame?

It’s the exact same principle here, but way faster.

And you will learn exactly how to do that in no time!

Workspace

Step 1: You will learn how to set up your workspace and File in Photoshop to begin animating.

Sketching/Planning

Step 2: We will be coming up with an idea and sketching it out.

Step 3: Bringing up your sketch to a finish by creating a nice linework and fixing mistakes along the way.

Coloring

Step 4: Bringing you art to finish so we can begin animating it!
